Barrymore Hotel Named Official Hospitality Partner of Oktoberfest Tampa

The Barrymore Hotel Official Hospitality Partner of Oktoberfest Tampa

The month of Oktober is here, also known as the time to don your dirndls, and for many a beer-loving patron, the time to imbibe that frothy, bubbly elixir at festivals centered all around the almighty Bier. Conveniently enough, Tampa happens to be home to the #5 ranked Oktoberfest in the country, Oktoberfest Tampa.

The Barrymore Hotel Tampa Riverwalk diligently worked to partner with the high profile event and will be the Official Hospitality Partner of Oktoberfest Tampa for 2015 and 2016. This is extremely convenient for festival attendees, as the Barrymore is located a mere 0.4 miles from Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, a very short walk to and from all the action. If beer lovers prefer, the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle as well.

The Barrymore took to social media to increase awareness of their affiliation with the event through two different contests, one on the increasingly popular Instagram and one on Facebook. The Instagram contest featured a giveaway for two sets of two one-day general admission passes and the Facebook contest featured a free one-night stay for one lucky winner that liked the page and shared their post about Oktoberfest.

Waterworks Bar and Grill, the Gulf Coast Southern-Style restaurant located adjacent to The Barrymore, is even hopping in on the Oktoberfest wagon. They’ll be setting up in the VIP booth on Saturday October 10, giving patrons a chance to mingle with Executive Chef Rusty Evers and Sous Chef Victor Alvarez whilst munching on fresh housemade pretzels and gooey, creamy beer cheese.

If you have some lederhosen hiding in the back of your wardrobe, or not…we invite our readers to head out this weekend and enjoy responsibly. Cheers to The Barrymore and Oktoberfest Tampa 2015.

The Barrymore Hotel Wins Best Signature Seafood Dish at Tampa Seaboard Seafood Festival

Waterworks’ booth at Curtis Hixon Park

Crowds gathered in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park this past Saturday and Sunday to sample some of Tampa’s best local restaurants and their seafood specialties at Ken Walters‘ Seaboard Seafood Festival. Each restaurant was eyeing the top spot, but Waterworks Bar and Grill at The Barrymore Hotel Tampa Riverwalk took home not only the award for Best Signature Seafood Dish, as determined by a panel of local celebrities judges, but they also won the People’s Choice Award.

Executive Chef Rusty Evers and her professional team toiled for days and weeks ahead of time planning and preparing for the event. Rusty and her team served three exquisite creations, exclusive to Waterworks Bar and Grill: Gulf Shrimp with Habanero Glaze served atop Coconut Rice topped with Twice-Smoked Bacon; and her signature Clam Andouille Chowder with Fresh Leeks and Louisiana Andouille Sausage. Rusty also presented guests with her signature KoKo Nuts – a spicy, sweet flavor experience to be reckoned with.

Congratulations to The Barrymore Hotel Tampa Riverwalk and Waterworks Bar and Grill on your hard work and fantastic job on winning BOTH competitions!
